Hótel Hvítserkur

It’s a place with stunning views, spotless cleanliness, a friendly owner and the perfect spot to relax. I saw the Northern Lights at dawn. The breakfast is good, and the homemade waffles are particularly delicious. Overall, it’s excellent. It’s particularly nice that you can make tea in the lounge.

Great stop between Reykjavik & Akureyri for those that don’t want to do it in one day! We were the first to arrive for the evening so it was quiet and we weren’t sure they were actually open but once inside, it was super clean & cozy!! The location is perfect, just off the Ring Road and right near Hvitserkur & a beautiful black sand beach! The views from the hotel itself are 10/10 and the area is perfect for viewing the Northern Lights! We also loved having waffles before heading out to adventure!

A hotel tucked away from roads and towns, where we were lucky enough to have the place all to ourselves – just the four of us – for the whole night. A starry sky and incredible, dancing northern lights. Clean bathrooms with hot water, and a magnificent dining room with a pool table. We really enjoyed it.

The young owners renovated the hotel with a lot of effort and love and reopened in April 2023. The building is a former school, which gives the premises a special charm. For breakfast we got homemade bread and the option for delicious waffles. The hotel lies in the middle of beautiful nature, not far from Hvítserkur rock and within easy reach of Hvammstangi, Blönduós and other attractions. A river flows 200 m from the hotel, which is ideal for fly fishing. We felt completely comfortable and will definitely come back !

Best place we have stayed so far. Clean, friendly, really good supper and free breakfast. Waffles with homemade cream. Awsome showers. You are able to fill thermos with hot water. Bigger rooms. Pool table, music in back ground with sun pouring in front window. Nice spot
